Have you seen the mayoral candidate forum from last Friday’s Politifest? You can witness the stark differences when you watch it here.
My opponent is focused on negativity and fear, spreading inflammatory, untrue statements about skyrocketing crime in Encinitas, and suggesting simplistic, unrealistic and expensive answers to complicated issues.
Is she really ‘on your side,’ as her campaign sign says?
As a longtime registered Republican until just before she declared her candidacy at a contentious City Council meeting where she opposed the city’s homeless parking lot, she has repeatedly dodged questions about who she supports for president, saying she doesn’t “have the time” to focus on national issues.
During these unprecedented times, it’s important to have people in leadership who understand the clear connection between national and local issues – like fighting climate change. And no matter who someone supports, we want leaders who speak with sincerity and own up to their worldview.
Meanwhile, Encinitas continues to excel as a safe, prosperous and well-run city. I’m running for re-election to keep it that way.

Make no mistake – there’s a lot at stake in this mayor’s race. My opponent would dismantle the important environmental, social and infrastructure improvements we’ve created together.
Please support my campaign with a contribution of up to $250 ($500 per couple) to continue the progress we’ve built over the last four years.
