10/27/20: Finishing the Race Strong!

October 27, 2020

We’re nearing the finish line here!

Your choice in this campaign for Encinitas mayor is stunningly clear – forward-looking, credible, proven leadership vs. regressive, vague, and backward-looking grievances that play on your fears.

Do you believe that there are simplistic, easy answers that magically solve our complex problems? For all of our sake, I sure hope not.

Let’s finish strong!

Our campaign is doing everything possible to finish big with sign-waving on key streets nearly every day and consistent communication with you, the Encinitas voter. If you’d like to wave signs with us, please click here to send an email to our volunteer coordinator Kris Powell.

And we only have two door hanger drops to go, this afternoon and this Saturday. Last chance for the kind of outdoor, socially distanced volunteer fun most people only dream of! You can sign up here.

After four years as your mayor, my reasoned, steady approach is clear. With family roots going back nearly a century here in Encinitas, and a professional background as a lawyer and a news reporter, I have a grounded, moderate, community-oriented approach.

Encinitas is a great city, with an unusually high quality of life. We’ve accomplished great things. Let’s continue moving forward together!

The Final Forum is Friday!

We’re doing our Final Forum online this Friday, October 30 at 5:30 p.m. to answer questions and talk about the issues that concern you in Encinitas.

Along with me, the two candidates who represent District 1 and District 2 are on the ballot. I support these fellow incumbents, Kellie Hinze and Tony Kranz, who have both ably represented their districts and our city. Tony has been in office almost eight years and Kellie for almost two.

Click the invitation above or click here to make your reservation and submit a question, if you like.

The State of the City is tonight!

The annual State of the City address hosted by the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce is being held virtually via Zoom at 6 p.m. this Tuesday, October 27. I’ll be giving the address at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets to watch it live and participate in the virtual networking can be purchased here for $25, which goes to support the Chamber. You can also watch it on the Chamber’s website for free starting Wednesday.

The State of the City remarks are a great opportunity for a broad reflection on our unquestionably wonderful city, which is prosperous and headed in the right direction.

One of the last times I’ll ask you for a contribution!

And finally, we’re so close to the very end of our hard-fought, months-long campaign. And every dollar matters. If you can contribute to help push us on to victory, please do so here

Thank you so much to the over 700 of you who have made almost 900 separate contributions so far! I know that these are difficult times, and I do not take your support for granted. Every dollar that goes to our campaign represents your commitment to the betterment of Encinitas, and it’s a sacrifice that you’re making because it matters to you.

I thank you profoundly for this.

All my best to you and your family in this tumultuous time,

Sorry, you are not in the 38th Senate District.
